Shopping List for Bbbok

Having done the checklist for things to be done, the most important checklist will be the shopping checklist. Since it is the first kid, I think I have the tendency to want to give the best as long as it is within the means. I hope I can control my shopping habit but I know it is abit difficult as my past experience as a baby product promoter gives me better knowledge of the products available in the market. I cannot imagine Bbbok become Bbqing as that will means more shopping for sweet and cute dresses. Oh my god, I cannot imagine

Checklist of Arrival of Bbbok

While looking forward to the new addition family member to our family, I am also busy with ideas and things to buy and do for the arrival. Such things can never be left to Bok to do as his brain is too occupy for such small things. This is like the next big thing other than our wedding that I have to do all the planning and of course him paying the money. 

This year being the dragon year also mean that I have to be more kiasu and booking and planning must be book way beforehand. I do not like last minute rush and like to be in control for such big events. To make sure everything is done nicely and properly, a checklist is a must and I hope my ideas will not make the list too long.

Checklist

• Book and attend Wong Boi Boi's antenatal class in June
• Arrange for air con servicing

Nickname for Baby

For those who like to watch Korean dramas, it is very often and normal to see scenes of korean parents calling their unborn baby by their nickname even before they know the gender of the baby. I understand that the reason for doing so is that they believed that this way the baby will be able to connect to the parents and goes to them safely.

Since young, I also have a nickname that has no connection to my name. It is just a nickname given to me by my father and I am the only one in my family that has a nickname. When I am a kid, I used to be embarrassed when my dad called me that on the streets. However, now that I am older, I kind of missed the days and really feel sweet and wonderful to have such a nickname.

Now that I am going to be a mother soon, I also want my baby to feel the same way as me. With no idea on the gender yet, I decide to call my unborn baby as Bb. It might seems uncreative for now but no choice as Bok is never an interesting person therefore no creative idea yet. I will definitely think of a more interesting nick in a later stage.

Braised Beancurd Skin W Asstd Mushrooms

I actually got the inspiration of this dish from the mixed veggie rice stall from the nearby coffeeshop. Their version is very simple with beancurd, chinese mushrooms and wolfberries. As I have alot of leftover fresh mushrooms in my fridge therefore I decide to throw all in. It is very simple and goes well with porridge. Just nice with the gravy and highly nutritious with the mushrooms. Bok do not like this dish so much as he is never a mushroom and beancurd person.

Bed Rest

I started spotting 1 week after I realised that I am pregnant and heavy spotting on the 3rd day of CNY. My gynae is quite alarmed with the volume and put me on bed rest. He almost wanted to admit me until I told him that I am just staying above my parents therefore my mum can take care of my meals during the daytime. Yesterday, I went for my last injection and are looking forward to see Bb's fetal pole this coming Friday.

I am trying my best to bed rest but it is really getting on my nerve. Basically, I am doing nothing except sleeping, eating and sleeping. I have a urge on Sunday for Korean food and Bok drove me out for a quick bite. Eventhough, the food is not so good but at least I manage to go out a short while. My appetite for food changed abit, not sure of it is my mindset problem but I just cannot stand the thought of eating rice arrgh.

I am telling myself to take things easy as maybe I overestimate myself and overworked myself during the CNY. I am praying hard that my spotting will stop asap and everything will be fine. Dear God, please give me a smooth 9 months ahead




Pregnancy Tickers

A Big Surprise for CNY

If I need to make a top 10 most memorable event for 2012 during the end of the year, one of it will definitely be the event which happened on 15 January 2012. While both of us were busy doing spring cleaning, I decided to secretly test on the last pregnancy kit left in the cupboard. Eventhough in my heart, I am telling myself that it is not possible but because I have some nausea feeling(which should not have in such early stage) therefore I decide to go ahead with the test.

The first instant I saw the result as negative and I am telling myself that it is alright and it is expected. I hid the kit in the dirty clothes basket as I do not want Bok to know about it. While I am still nursing my disappointments, I quickly return back to the toilet with the intention of disposing it. However, to my surprise, the kit now present me with a positive result. I could not believe my own eyes and start to suspect if my kit had expired. 

I still remember that look on Bok's face when I told him calmly that I am pregnant. He was at that moment sweating profusely as he is cleaning the window grilles. He do not believe me and thought I am joking with him until I showed him the kit. 

Both of us could not believe our luck as year 2011 is really a bad patch for us. To double confirm, I made him go guardian to buy another kit to test it out. Now, I am in my 4th week and crossing my fingers every day that everything is well.

Our luck is changing

We are supposed to be shopping at those factory outlets for CNY goodies with my inlaws. However, as informed by Bok's sis, the crowd is overwhelming and we decide to cancel the trip. Both of us, went to the old Woodlands shopping centre for lunch and also some CNY shopping at Sheng Shiong.

While shopping there, it happened to have the F&N promotion where the TSC actor Huang Wen Yong is there posing as Fortune God. Every $8 spent on F&N products entitled to 1 lucky draw dip and photography session with Huang Wen Yong. Me, the auntie of course cannot lose out on the opportunity. I made Bok buy 12 cans of 100 plus just for it. After payment, with my hands full of other merchandises I proceed to the lucky dip counter to queue. As I was waiting for my turn, I saw the gifts for the lucky dip and hope that I can win at least something more worth like 6 packs of drinks. My turn came and I tell myself that it is be some free red packets hahaha since I have never won any lucky draw in my entire life. I shown the ball to the person in charge and one of the young boy started to get excited and mentioned something like 1st, 1st, 1st. Then I saw  another boy brought out a big shopping bag full of items and told me that I won the 1st prize. A lady behind me started to congratulate me for my good luck and I cannot believe my luck. Then I am told to take a photo with Huang Wen Yong and I asked Bok to join me. The photograph is not something I have to mind to take but because I do not believe my luck therefore why not. At that time, Bok still do not know I had won the 1st prize and he still stared at me for taking the photography when we have our hands tight. 

Hahahah, I must said our end is definitely changing for the better and I hope it can remain this way for the whole of Dragon yr.
